Queen Street ‘Girls’ event a big success

By Jane Harris

Friday 25th November, business owners on Barraba’s Queen Street collaborated to hold their annual shopping event. Sixteen businesses joined together to create a fun night, offering discounts and specials. Proprietor of Polkadot  Sandra Allen said, “It was great to see the town abuzz with people enjoying their night out.” And abuzz it was. Dozens of shoppers spread out along Queen Street enjoying the atmosphere. Shopkeepers were generous with free drinks and snacks. Shoppers were encouraged to visit every shop, with a ‘Bingo card’, to be stamped. Full cards were entered into a prize drawer to be drawn next week.

Rhonda from Frocks N Locks said it was lovely to see so many local girls out and about. “There was a great mix of mums, daughters and granddaughters, girlfriends and visitors,” said Rhonda. “We enjoyed fantastic salea throughout the day and evening for which we are so very grateful. I have only heard positive feedback about the organising of the night.”
